New Zealand has a strictly enforced smoke-free policy in all public buildings. This applies to pubs, restaurants, all public areas such as bus terminals, shops etc. Tobacco cannot be purchased by minors (under 18 years) and the purchase of tobacco may require proof of age.
Alcohol cannot be sold to, or consumed by minors (under 18 years). There are strict regulations regarding the purchase and consumption of alcohol. Proof of Age will be requested especially if you look under 25 years of age. You will be required to present a drivers licence, passport or other formal photo identification.
